About Wes….

Wes was first elected to the Coppell City Council in June of 2012. He was re-elected in 2014, 2017 and 2020. In 2021, he was elected Mayor by the Citizen of Coppell.

He has attended the Texas Municipal League annual conferences, and is a graduate of Leadership North Texas through the North Texas Commission. He has served as the city liaison to the Metrocrest Social Services and the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

Wes is the Chairman of the Industrial Advisory Board of the College of Electrical Engineering at the University of North Texas. He is an Eagle Scout holding the Silver Beaver and District Award of Merit from the Boy Scouts of America. Wes and his wife, Linda, are members of the Coppell Lions Club.

Professionally, he received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University. He holds 24 patents from the US Patent office encompassing a broad variety of technical expertise including RFID, radio frequency design, transportation, and communication design. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas.

Wes and his wife of 30+ years, Linda, have lived in Coppell since 2000. They have two children: Chris a software engineer in Irving and Allison, a commercial real estate appraiser in Richardson. The Mays family has attended the First United Methodist Church in Coppell since 2001.
